Blepharoplasty corrects hooded upper eyelids (typically excess skin), and puffy bags (often protruding fat) under the eyes. It removes excess skin and muscle from the upper eyelid and corrects the bulging appearance of the lower eyelid. In addition it can help smooth the skin around the eyes.
Blepharoplasty aims to provide a more youthful appearance. The integrity of the eye and vision is always of primary concern and a degree of conservatism is desirable. Andrew Coombes has been specifically trained in blepharoplasty both in the UK and abroad (Sydney, Australia). He is experienced in a range of techniques both surgical and non-surgical (eg Botox) to achieve the best appearance for each individual patient.
The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS) provides further patient information on this subject. |
